Community Support
Carlisle Mencap provide outreach support in the community for Children with disabilities to do a variety of different activities and support them to be as independent as possible.
Our outreach support for children is tailored to suit the child and the family. We will provide the correct level of support to help your child be as independent as possible in the community or at home. Our support will also give families a break whilst at the same time providing a quality service to the client. Each support package we give is different as they are all person centred, they range from 2 hours after school to 5 or 6 hours at a weekend. They can be financed in many different ways from direct payments to contracts from social services. We work flexibly to meet the clients needs and have a highly skilled staff team. We have been providing support in people's homes and in the community for over 50 years and believe in supporting people to reach their goals.
We can offer support any day of the week, at any time and we regularly provide help for children to attend after school clubs, sports clubs, appointments, go to the park, to their favourite soft play centre, go out for tea, go out to get some exercise, learn independent skills in the community or home, go swimming or any other activity your child would like to do and we work flexibly to fit in with what you as a family wants to get from your child's support.
