Treat Me Well campaign

Date: 11th October Location: Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle

CARLISLE Mencap will be playing a big part in the nationwide Treat Me Well campaign next week. The charity will have a stand in the atrium at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle on Monday, October 15 and Wednesday, October 17 to get more NHS staff to sign up to the campaign. Treat Me Well is highlighting the worrying fact that 1,200 people with a learning disability die avoidably every year when good healthcare could have saved their lives. People with a learning disability die on average 17 years younger than the general population. That's why making reasonable adjustments for people with a learning disability in hospital is so important - hence the Treat Me Well campaign.
